About FATE
Mission
Fighting Addiction Through Education (FATE) is a non-profit organization with a mission to change the culture of Oklahoma by educating and motivating Oklahomans to action regarding the dangers and problems caused by alcohol and other drug abuse. FATE promotes informed and wise decision making about alcohol and other drugs. We influence individuals and the institutions that shape policy on substance abuse. We educate and motivate.
Vision
To change the culture of Oklahoma on alcohol and other drugs so that all Oklahomans are free from the bondage of substance abuse.
Our Core Values
Thoughtful Proactivity
We take the initiative and are proactive in addressing and solving alcohol and other drug abuse issues; our actions will not be reactive or emotional but will be undertaken after a careful, evidence based analysis of the problems and potential solutions.
Creative Problem Solving
We are innovative, creative and boldly think outside the box in producing, promoting and implementing solutions to alcohol and drug abuse.
Servant Leadership
We serve best by serving others. We are humble in our approach. We assume complete ownership for our duties, responsibilities, and actions. We approach our work with an understanding of our areas of influence and are aware our work impacts others both inside and outside the state of Oklahoma. We recognize our limits while not being constrained by them. We serve as stewards of the resources entrusted to us and will act in a manner worthy of that stewardship.
Collaboration
We maximize our impact through teamwork and cooperation within and outside our organization. We achieve synergy and positive overall results through partnerships, teamwork, and cooperation. When we achieve success we do not seek credit for ourselves but freely give it to others. We work with any and all individuals and organizations whose mission is consistent with ours and we effectively share ideas and resources to meet the goal of a substance-abuse-free state.

We take action based on our values. We act consistent with our informed conscience, behave with honesty and fairness, admit errors, and conduct ourselves and the organization’s programs in line with our vision, mission and values.

We do all our work with preeminent quality, provide practical and accurate information, and achieve high positive impact for our state and those we serve.
